Literature Text
In friendship's face, my heart was found
By one across the sea;
My love was lost, but now fate-bound,
You'll someday embrace me.
In love, our souls have draw'n near,
In love, our wounds are healed.
That love became so quickly clear
When we confessed what was concealed.
Three long years an' Five thousand miles
May keep us, for now, apart;
But nothing will keep my eyes from your smile-
I'll make it mine and not allow it to depart.
Someday we'll lay in a grassy field,
The morning air so cold.
A shiver'll run down your back,
I'll give you my coat to wrap you up
and then my hand for you to hold.
By one across the sea;
My love was lost, but now fate-bound,
You'll someday embrace me.
In love, our souls have draw'n near,
In love, our wounds are healed.
That love became so quickly clear
When we confessed what was concealed.
Three long years an' Five thousand miles
May keep us, for now, apart;
But nothing will keep my eyes from your smile-
I'll make it mine and not allow it to depart.
Someday we'll lay in a grassy field,
The morning air so cold.
A shiver'll run down your back,
I'll give you my coat to wrap you up
and then my hand for you to hold.
